The New Haven Student Fair Share Coalition
The New Haven Student Fair Share Coalition is a growing alliance of undergraduate organizations and supportive high school and graduate students. We are joining with community members, Yale employees, elected officials, clergy, and community organizations such as the Connecticut Center for a New Economy (CCNE) in asking Yale to make a fair share contribution to New Haven.
The Fair Share Coalition launched with a press conference outside of President Levin's office in Woodbridge Hall on Apr. 15th, 2004. As of now, 16 broadly ranging undergraduate organizations have signed on to the growing Coalition. At the Dwight Hall Cabinet meeting on Apr. 20th, half of the voting organizations voted in favor of Dwight Hall signing on to the Fair Share Coalition, demonstrating widespread undergraduate support. We plan on continuing researching and organizing throughout the summer, in preparation for a continued campaign this fall. We will continue applying pressure until our University agrees to make a fair share contribution. We'd love to have you join us!
