Mission Statement

Who we are:
We are a diverse group of undergraduates united by a vision of a just and democratic community at Yale and in New Haven. We work to re-imagine and reshape Yale’s role as an educator, an employer, and a public citizen, pushing our University to lead its peer institutions in realizing our shared ideals of racial equality, economic justice, participatory democracy, and responsible citizenship.

Our goals:
A just labor contract and recognition of all workers’ right to organize
A comprehensive overhaul of university governance, incorporating the voices of all members of this community
Vigilant protection of free expression for all members of this community
Making Yale a national model of diversity in and outside the classroom
A true partnership between Yale and New Haven

How we get there:
Building strong coalitions based on shared visions for change
Organizing through individual relationships
Educating and empowering students to become involved in our community
Direct action
